Cecilia Durojaye Prüfer, Ph.D. is a research associate and postdoctoral researcher (Habilitandin) at the Institute for Cultural Policy at the University of Hildesheim. She completed her PhD at the University of Cape Town, South Africa on indigenous knowledge systems in talking drum practices in Nigeria. She has been a member of the reviewers’ list of the Journal of Musical Arts in Africa since 2019 and a member of the editorial board of the Yoruba Music Research Journal since 2023. She is currently working on the BMBF-funded project, KuSe, which is focused on the rights of young people to cultural (self)education.
